Lemon Grove, La Mesa, Spring Valley, and South San Diego.
But let me tell you one thing: Out of Universal Studios or Disneyland or water parks, there is not much to see in Southern California, instead many people choose to go there because its main attractions are not located anywhere else but California and Florida.
But, if you have family in California or any elsewhere, well, the best family place to visit is your relatives’ place!!!!
    Have a nice trip.

Yes, of course, or else LA wouldn’t be the second most populous are in the whole country!

Many parks, beaches, water parks, horseback riding, hiking, picnicking places, camping.

    Museums (art, history, specialty)
    Sports venues
    Gardens and arboretums
    Theaters and concert halls
    Festivals

If I were you, I would buy a good-quality tourist book, and I would get a copy of the LA Weekly or a local paper in the area you want to visit. For example, I live in Pasadena, and our Pasadena Weekly, which comes out on Thursdays, is just packed with events of interest in the area, many of them free, many of them great for kids and whole families.

Those tourist-y places grown stale very quickly, and they are SO expensive!

In San Diego you have Sea World, the zoo, and the Wild Animal Park. ll are worth going to.

If you’d like some active choices….Mission Bay area in San Diego is full of opportunities. You can rent all types of water things….jet skis, surf boards, water trikes, and more. Kayaking through the caves in La Jolla is an awesome trip. You get to see lots of the local marine life closeup. Balboa Park is full of museums, gardens, and other attractions. Hiking along the coast at Torrey Pines is lots of fun. I love roasting marshmallows on the beach.

There are many wonderful and interesting places in Southern California where you can visit with your family, such as, Marina Del Rey, UCLA Westwood Village, The Grove at Farmers Market, The Universal City Walk, Mann’s Chinese Theatre, La Brea Tar Pits, beautiful La Jolla Beach in San Diego, J. Paul Getty Museum to the amazing LA County Arboretum Bontanical Garden. I usually visit this informative website: to get most of my information on where to go in Southern California. Good Luck and have a great time with your family in LA!
