Where is the best place to live in Southern, CA?
johnmccaffrey04 asked:
Where do experienced southern Californians think I should be looking for a house. It needs to be between the University of Southern California (USC) and Disneyland. My annual income is approximately $125,000, allowing me to afford either $500,000 if I’m buying (which I’d prefer) or $3,000/month if I’m renting. I’d be looking for a minimum of 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. I would be looking for a fun area - not necessarily nightlife, but good shopping and parks/activities, movie theaters, events, etc. My last criteria is that the community be generally comprised of professionals and mainly caucasians or asians rather than hispanics and african americans. This may sound racist, but that’s what I’m looking for, sorry if you’re offended.
Wow, thanks for all of the help. I know it takes time to type out these answers and I appreciate the effort - it all really does help!

Do NOT get housing around USC! It’s in a terrible neighborhood … go south to Orange County, and try Long Beach or Huntington Beach. Fountain Valley will be a little cheaper, since it’s more inland too … Or, you could try southern LA County, like Whittier or La Mirada…
