Why people who live in California are such a snobs?

I lived there for about 15 years and if they are not flashing the new gadgett, they are showing up the new car or house they got. At work most middle and upper management would not even look at the people who work under them or people who they are not doing business with, About five years ago I moved to a southern state and it is different, I even get to meet the CEO of the company where I work and about 99% of the upper mangement, which I continue to talk to, they are friendly and make you feel welcome at most company sponsored events and even outside of work. I just don’t understand why the 360^ change?
I guess is a big stereotype, but I guess 15 years living on the state, doing a lot of outside and inside sales, doing all kinds of jobs and meeting people by the thousands makes me aware of that stereotipe and most of them are really snobbs. Specially in middle and large companies, where I had basically look down when the boss speaked not because I had to do, but it was expected, once I got fired because I shaved off my hair, by accident. This lady at the place where I worked told me that I looked like a gaster and that is how I got fired with no ifs or buts, they told me to go back to work once my hair grew up. She was a lawyer at the building I worked as a dayport, in Newport Beach. I would sue them, but again it was one of those things of just letting go or take a big lost.

That’s mean! A big sterotype. I have relatives in California and they aren’t snobs. You haven’t met everyone in California. Just where you live may have a lot of snobs.
